Terms of Service

3.1 Lawful Use

You agree to use ReadAct only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Service:

• -In any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
• -To transmit any harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• -To attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• -To interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers

3.2 Copyright and Intellectual Property

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to upload and process any EPUB books through ReadAct. By uploading a book, you represent and warrant that:

• -You own the book or have obtained it through legal means
• -You have the right to process the book's content through AI services
• -Your use complies with applicable copyright laws and fair use principles

ReadAct does not store your books on our servers. We are not responsible for copyright infringement by users.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. ReadAct is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information.

4.1 Account Creation

To generate playbooks and use the core features of ReadAct, you must create an account. By creating an account, you agree to:

• -Provide accurate and complete information
• -Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• -Not create an account using false or fraudulent information
• -Not create multiple accounts to abuse the Service

4.2 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us atprivacy@readact.app. Upon account deletion, all your personal data, playbooks, and progress will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days, except for transaction records which we may be required to retain for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes.

4.3 Data Sync and Cloud Storage

Your account data, including playbooks and progress, is stored in our secure cloud database provided by Supabase. This enables you to access your data from any device. We also use your browser's local storage as a cache to improve performance. You can clear local cache at any time without losing your cloud-stored data.

5.1 What Are Credits

ReadAct uses a credits-based system for playbook generation. Credits are virtual currency used exclusively within the Service. Generating a playbook from a book costs 499 credits.

5.2 Free Credits

New users receive 500 credits upon account registration, which is sufficient to generate one free playbook. This is a one-time bonus and cannot be redeemed multiple times by creating multiple accounts.

5.3 Purchasing Credits

You can purchase additional credits through:

• -One-time purchases: Buy a specific amount of credits for a single payment
• -Subscription plans: Receive credits automatically at the start of each billing period (monthly, quarterly, or yearly)

5.4 Credits Expiration and Rollover

Credits never expire. For subscription plans, unused credits roll over to the next billing period and accumulate with new credits. If you cancel your subscription, all existing credits remain in your account permanently and can be used at any time.

5.5 Non-Transferability

Credits are non-transferable between accounts and cannot be exchanged for cash or other value. Credits have no monetary value outside of the ReadAct Service.

6.1 Subscription Terms

Subscription plans provide recurring credits at the start of each billing period. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method automatically at the beginning of each billing cycle until you cancel.

6.2 Billing Cycles

We offer monthly, quarterly, and yearly subscription plans. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

6.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged for subsequent periods. All unused credits in your account will remain available permanently, even after cancellation.

6.4 Plan Changes and Upgrades

You may upgrade your subscription plan at any time. When you upgrade, your current subscription will be cancelled immediately, and you'll be charged the full amount for the new plan. The new plan takes effect right away, and you'll receive the new plan's credits instantly. Downgrades are not supported; you must cancel your current plan and subscribe to a lower-tier plan after your current billing period ends.

6.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription prices. Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and will apply to your next billing cycle. If you do not agree with the price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.

7.1 ReadAct's Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by ReadAct and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service without our permission.

7.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to the books you upload and the goals you submit. However, by using the Service, you grant ReadAct a limited license to store and process your uploaded content, generated playbooks, progress data, and related information as necessary to provide the Service. The AI-generated roadmaps created by ReadAct are provided to you for your personal use. ReadAct does not claim ownership of your content or the generated roadmaps, but we retain the right to store them in our cloud database to enable service functionality.

7.3 AI-Generated Content

Roadmaps and action plans are generated using third-party AI services. While we strive for accuracy and quality, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate suggestions. You use this content at your own discretion and risk.

8.1 AI Services

We use third-party artificial intelligence services to analyze book content and generate roadmaps. Your book text and goals are sent to these services for processing. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, accuracy, or policies of these AI providers.

8.2 Supabase (Database and Authentication)

We use Supabase to provide secure database storage and user authentication services. Your account data, playbooks, and progress are stored on Supabase infrastructure.

8.3 Creem (Payment Processing)

All payment processing is handled by Creem, our secure payment provider. When you make a purchase, your payment information is sent directly to Creem and is not stored on our servers. We receive only transaction confirmation and subscription status updates. You agree to be bound by Creem's terms of service and privacy policy when making purchases.

8.4 Hosting and Infrastructure

Our website is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may collect technical information such as IP addresses and access logs for hosting and performance purposes.

9.1 Service "As Is"

ReadAct is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9.2 AI Accuracy

While we use advanced AI models, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the generated roadmaps. The roadmaps are suggestions only and should not be considered professional advice.

9.3 Not Professional Advice

ReadAct does not provide professional, medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice. The roadmaps generated are for informational and educational purposes only. Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions.

9.4 Data Backup

While we store your data in our secure cloud database, we recommend periodically exporting your playbooks using our export features. We are not responsible for data loss due to technical failures, security breaches, or third-party service outages beyond our control.

13.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Creem, our third-party payment processor. By making a purchase, you agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.

13.2 Pricing

All prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change at any time, but price changes will not affect purchases already completed or active subscriptions until the next billing cycle.

13.3 Refund Policy

All purchases made through the Service are generally non-refundable. Once a purchase is completed and payment has been processed, we do not provide refunds for:

• -Used or partially used credits
• -Generated playbooks or completed services
• -Change of mind or buyer's remorse
• -Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content
• -Failure to use purchased credits or features

Refunds will only be provided if required by applicable law or in cases of technical errors that prevent service delivery. All refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase.

We will respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. If we fail to respond within this timeframe, refunds may be automatically processed by our payment provider.

13.4 Subscription Refunds

If you cancel a subscription, you will not receive a refund for the current billing period. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period, and you will retain access to your credits. No refunds are provided for unused subscription time or accumulated credits.

13.5 Chargebacks and Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your payment provider, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account and forfeit all credits. You must contact us directly to resolve any billing issues before initiating a chargeback.
